iReady

i-Ready is an interactive online learning program that helps students build essential skills in reading and mathematics.
i-Ready starts with an online diagnostic test that students take in class to identify the specific skills each student needs to develop and measure academic growth through the school year. It also provides students with personalized online instruction and gives teachers guidance on how they can best support the needs of each and every student. i-Ready encourages students to take ownership of their learning. Students get real-time feedback, see motivating messages, and earn credits after completing lessons that they can use to get rewards, such as games. i-Ready’s engaging environment draws students in right away and gets students of all ages excited about learning.
How can you help your child get the most out of i-Ready?
• Speak with your child about how using i-Ready will help him or her prepare for class work. Also explain that i-Ready will show teachers where your child is doing well and which topics need some more review.
• Encourage your child to take each lesson and quiz question seriously. Emphasize “thinking before clicking,” because just clicking through will not give teachers an accurate report of what your child knows and is able to do.
• Help your child identify and become familiar with the different parts of the student dashboard.
• Encourage your child to use the tools that will appear at the bottom of the screen in some lessons.
• Discuss your child’s results by looking at “My Progress” together to see the number of lessons your child has completed in i-Ready and the percentage of questions your child answered correctly in the quiz at the end of each lesson.
• Contact your child’s teacher about how often your child should practice at home, or with any other questions about i-Ready
Achieve 3000

Students need daily practice with text at their independent reading level to develop reading strategies and to provide access to grade-level content. Achieve3000’s exclusive 5-Step Literacy Routine is designed to build the skills for close reading of informational text with the explicit purpose of finding the evidence necessary to respond to a written prompt.
Students begin the routine by working with text at their independent reading level. While reading, they identify and incorporate evidence needed for a response to a Thought Question using Achieve3000’s Reading Connections and a digital highlighting tool to annotate text. Research shows that when students complete on average two lessons per week, they can expect to more than double their expected Lexile gains, accelerating their readiness for high-stakes assessments.
Once students have acquired a base of knowledge by reading the Lexiled article, they progress to the Stretch version, which is written at grade level. This ensures that students get ample practice reading grade-level text, building the stamina and strength they need to read complex informational text and preparing them for the challenges of college and their chosen career.

What is Lexile?
A popular method used by schools to measure a student reader's ability is Lexile level or a Lexile Measure. A Lexile measure is a valuable tool for teachers, parents, and students. It serves two unique functions: it is the measure of how difficult a text is OR a student's reading ability level.
Getting kids reading as much as possible is important! However, many students will experience reading fatigue if they use Achieve3000 for too long on a daily basis.
