Welcome to Orange Park Junior High School, home of the Wildcats!

I am so excited to serve the students, families, and faculty as the Principal of Orange Park Junior High!

Prior to becoming the principal of OPJ, I served as the Assistant Principal for Orange Park High for three years as well as Green Cove Junior High School for one year. In the classroom, I taught English Language Arts to all types of learners and improving literacy in students is still a strong passion of mine. I work to support our teaching staff in developing instructional methods that will best serve your students and they will most likely see me in at least one of their classes daily.

My philosophy on leading a school rests on three facets: First, every student deserves a champion - an adult who is willing to enable students to believe that they can discover endless possibilities, regardless of where they come from.  Second, I believe that “all means all” which implies that each of our faculty and staff believes that we share all of our students and care for those that walk our halls - not just the ones assigned to our individual classrooms. Finally, what our teachers and staff do daily, matters. We have a strong faculty that is dedicated to meeting every need of each of our students to enable them to continue on a trajectory towards success! Building and fostering relationships with families, as well as the community, is one of the areas in which we continuously demonstrate success.

Our primary focus here at OPJ is a strong emphasis on teaching and learning; I want to provide the best educational setting that Clay County has to offer. As partners in your student’s education, I ask that you help us ensure that your student arrives to school on time every day. Our school day begins promptly at 9:25 and we dismiss at 3:42. Please make every effort to schedule appointments outside of these hours so that your student doesn’t miss out on every opportunity to own his or her learning.

Never hesitate to reach out to our administrative, school counseling, or office staff with any needs.

Go Wildcats!
