Dear Lake Asbury Junior High Students, Parents, and Community Members,

Welcome to Lake Asbury Junior High School! I am beyond excited to work with each of you as we grow throughout this year. The junior high school years are an exciting time when children embark upon new adventures in the world of learning both academically and socially. As a former junior high and high school teacher, I value lifelong learning and we will aim to make your child’s learning experiences at LAJH engaging and exciting! We work diligently to prepare our students for success after high school by providing an innovative Project-Based Learning (PBL) approach and a strong foundation in literacy. We firmly believe this sets the stage for students to solve real-world problems while reaching their highest academic potential. This will also allow LAJH students to develop skills such as critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and creativity.

As we partner together for this school year, we will need your help!. Our commitment to you is to keep our focus on teaching and learning. You can help us by making sure students arrive to school on time each day. Our school day begins at 9:30am and ends at 3:42pm. Please make all efforts to schedule any student appointments before or after school hours to ensure that your child receives a full day's instruction.

Throughout the school year, please make sure to keep the lines of communication open with your child’s teacher. He/she will always be your first contact for any questions or concerns you may have. Parents and teachers working together will not only increase your child’s success but serve as a great model for students as to how to work effectively as a team. The junior high years are critical in the lives of our students. During a time you want to allow your student to spread their wings and “fly,” I encourage you to still remember they need you as an active member of their educational journey.

Please know the Lake Asbury staff is dedicated to ensuring that every student receives instruction that meets their individual academic needs in a safe and supportive school environment. Our LAJH faculty and staff take great pride in positive interactions with students and families. Building positive relationships with all stakeholders is of great importance to me as well.
