Superintendent Offers Professional Development Opportunities for Teachers and Administrators

Superintendent Addison Davis released the 2019 Clay County District School’s Summer Professional Learning catalog in June to teachers and staff. The District is offering dynamic professional development opportunities that are aligned with state standards and the District’s Strategic Plan.

This summer’s learning offerings will lead to the ongoing collegial inquiry that keeps teachers connected to innovative research, emerging technology, and curriculum resources. This will, in turn, help build positive learning environments, strengthen small group instruction, and improve the overall experience of our teachers and students. The professional learning sessions have been designed to build upon the lessons learned through professional learning communities and grade level meetings conducted throughout the current school year.

"The goals for the summer learning sessions consist of exposing educators to high-quality experiences that will expand knowledge and skills as a way to strengthen educational practices that lead to increased student achievement. These sessions will help teachers and administrators dive deeper into the instructional practices that improve students’ ability to problem-solve, think critically, and communicate effectively," said Superintendent Davis.

The summer catalog offers a wide variety of training opportunities including math, science, english, reading, music, art, history, Google certification, mental health, and much more!
