Monitored Campus Guidelines
-
The intent of the “monitored” vs “closed” campus is to observe and check the spread (or mitigation) of COVID-19 within our schools as we allow for volunteers and visitors to return into the building during the first nine weeks of the 2021-2022 school year. The goal is to safely and systematically move toward a fully opened campus next school year.
- Visitors and Volunteers are properly screened and pass all background checks and protocols utilized in years past.
- Elementary schools may allow parents/guardians to walk students to the classroom for the first four days of school only (Tuesday, August 10th- Friday, August 13th).
- Mentors will work with students in spaces that allow for 6 feet of social distancing between mentor and mentee.
- Principals may use discretion for their unique campus setup/population on how many volunteers and visitors can be on campus at a time based on available space.
- Limit the amount of parent volunteers initially - creatively use “room moms” by assisting a teacher through the media center, teachers’ lounge, etc. to not unintentionally expose students to illness in the classroom setting.
- Open House and Orientations may be in-person. Principals will plan accordingly, potentially utilizing two days to split grade levels and/or alphabetically with scheduled time frames to ensure large groups of individuals are not on the campus at once for a prolonged period of time.
- Field Trips on a case-by-case basis from August- December (field trips stop for second semester until testing is complete). Parent volunteers will be cohorted with one group of students for the entirety of the trip.
- After the first 30 days of school, one parent/guardian may have lunch on campus with their child(ren) only in a separate/designated area that does not unnecessarily expose other students. Students may not bring their friends to sit with the parent/guardian for lunch.
