Athletics Announcement: September 30, 2020
The Florida Department of Health - Clay County has recommended the quarantine of all individuals on the Keystone Heights High School Varsity Football Team due to the potential exposure to positive COVID-19 cases. Out of an abundance of caution for student athletes’ health and safety, the District is following the Florida Department of Health - Clay County’s recommendation.
As a result of the number of players impacted during this time, practices and games are cancelled through Friday, October 9th based on the quarantine windows provided by the Florida Department of Health - Clay County
Below are several reminders for parents and guardians in regards to COVID-19:
- The school district partners closely with the Florida Department of Health-Clay County. The school district will be notified by the Department of Health if your child is currently in attendance at school and should still be home on quarantine orders for COVID-19 testing or contact tracing. Please know that if this is the case, your child will be removed from class and will need to be picked up within an hour.
- If your children are sick, you must keep them at home. Please do not send children to school if they have a fever or if they are exhibiting other signs of COVID-19 such as a cough, a sore throat, diarrhea, headache, or any other cold-like symptoms.
- If your children have had prolonged exposure to someone known to have COVID-19 or someone in the household is awaiting the results of a COVID-19 test, please do not send them to school. Contact the administration at your child’s school first to determine how to proceed.
- The Florida Department of Health - Clay County will continue to conduct all contact tracing and notify individuals if they need to quarantine.

The Florida Department of Health - Clay County has recommended the quarantine of all individuals on the Clay High Varsity and JV Football Teams and the Clay High Varsity and JV Volleyball Teams due to the potential exposure to positive COVID-19 cases. Out of an abundance of caution for student athletes’ health and safety, the District is following the Florida Department of Health - Clay County’s recommendation.
As a result of the number of players impacted during this time, practices and games are cancelled until the following dates based on the quarantine windows provided by the Florida Department of Health - Clay County:
- Clay High Varsity and JV Football Players can return Thursday, October 1st
- Clay High Varsity and JV Volleyball Players can return Thursday, October 8th
